Charger Onboarding Guide
Step-by-step instructions to connect your charging station to the Petit Monde Energy platform
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:
Physical access to the charging station
Admin credentials for the charger's configuration interface
Network connectivity (Ethernet, WiFi, or 4G/5G SIM card installed)
Your station registered in EV Suite (see "Add Station" button on Stations page)
Step 1Network Configuration
Ethernet / WiFi:
- • Ensure DHCP is enabled, or configure a static IP
- • Verify internet connectivity (ping 8.8.8.8)
- • Ensure ports 443 (HTTPS) and 80 (HTTP) are accessible
Cellular (4G/5G):
- • Insert activated SIM card into charger
- • Configure APN settings (provided by your mobile operator)
- • Verify signal strength (minimum 2 bars recommended)
- • Record ICCID for documentation (found on SIM card or in charger menu)
Firewall Note: If behind a corporate firewall, ensure outbound WebSocket connections (WSS) on port 443 are allowed to control.petitmonde.energy
Step 2OCPP Configuration
Configure the charger to connect to our OCPP backend
wss://control.petitmonde.energy/ocpp/[YOUR_CHARGE_POINT_ID]Replace [YOUR_CHARGE_POINT_ID] with the Charge Point ID you registered in Step 0

Delta: Access Web UI → Network → OCPP Backend Configuration
Generic: Look for "Backend URL", "Central System", or "CSMS URL" in your charger's settings
Step 3Test & Verify Connection
Save Configuration & Reboot
- Save all OCPP configuration changes in the charger
- Reboot the charging station (soft reset recommended)
- Wait 30-60 seconds for the charger to establish connection
Verify in EV Suite Dashboard
1.Go to the Stations page
2.Find your station by Charge Point ID
3.Check that the status shows
Online
4.Verify "Last Heartbeat" timestamp is recent (within last minute)
Success Indicators
- Status shows "Online" or "Available"
- BootNotification accepted by server
- Regular heartbeat messages every 60 seconds
- Charger responds to remote commands (test with "Reset" if needed)
Troubleshooting
Charger shows "Offline"
- • Verify network connectivity (check cable, WiFi signal, or cellular signal)
- • Confirm OCPP URL is correct (check for typos, especially in Charge Point ID)
- • Check firewall rules allow outbound connections on port 443
- • Review charger logs for connection errors
Authentication failures
- • Double-check Basic Auth credentials (username and password)
- • Ensure no extra spaces in credentials
- • Verify the Charge Point ID matches exactly what was registered in EV Suite
- • Contact support if credentials were not provided
SSL/TLS errors
- • Ensure charger supports TLS 1.2 or higher
- • Update charger firmware if SSL handshake fails
- • Some older chargers may require manual certificate installation (contact support)
